My Walgreens shopping strategy: Use points to purchase items that will give you Register Rewards. Then use Register Rewards to purchase items that will give you more points. I also use points to purchase items I need.

First, Lets go over the basics
1. Balance Rewards - 1,000 pts = $1.00 & 2,000pts = $2.00
2. Register Rewards - Also known as RR. These will print after you pay and you can use them on your next transaction.
3. You cannot use Points to get points. So if you are purchasing items that will give you points you cannot use points to pay for that transaction.
4. You cannot use RR to pay for same brand items that will give you RR's. So if you got a Register Reward from Crest you cannot use that Register Reward on Crest items and expect to receive another RR from Crest.
5. You must have more purchase items than coupons & RR. If you have more coupons & RR than you will need to grab a filler item. A good Filler is usually candy or postcards!
