First, I sorted all of the inserts so all of the like inserts were together. Then I start with one group of inserts and separate all of the pages and put them into groups. Next, I paper clipped all of the like pages together where ever there was a coupon. (Putting a paper clip on each coupon helps keep them together when you cut them out) Then I used a paper cutter to quickly cut out all of the coupons. (I occasionally use scissors).
I use a binder to organize my coupons. I know there are tons of different ways people organize their coupons. Just make sure you choose the option that is best for you!
After I cut out all of the coupons. I group them in categories and put them in my binder. My binder is has 6 categories and within those categories I sort them by type. This just helps me locate coupons quickly!
1. Food - Breakfast, Drinks, Protein, Bread, Snacks, Condiments, Cheese and Dinner/Meat
2. Beauty - Makeup, Deodorant, Body Wash, Other, Feminine Products
3. Razors, Oral Health, Hair
5. Cleaning - Misc (batteries, hefty bags), Air Fresheners, Paper Products, Baby, Laundry, All other cleaning supplies
6. Pet - Cat, Dog
This is a picture of my binder - It's an old picture but you can see that I use a 3 ring binder, baseball card holders for the coupons, and folder dividers that allow me to store rainchecks or blinkie coupons that I find in the store! This helps me stay organized and it doesn't require tons of my time. I go through my binder to take out all of the expired coupons at the end of each month. You can purchase these items at Walmart, Amazon & Hobby Lobby. If you go to hobby Lobby make sure you use the 40% off coupon!
