When I started this blog I had a vision. I wanted this blog to help people. I wanted to help people save money, use couponing to support my community, and donate to charities around the world.

To donate to different charities around the world, I needed cash flow and having Ads on my page was the only way to get that. The charities that Couponing4Charity will donate to will depend on my viewers. Every month, I would like my viewers to give me 4 charity suggestions. Then I would like all of you to vote on your favorite charity. At the end of the month, the charity with the most votes will get the money produced by the Ads on my blog.

Please let me know how you feel about this by adding a comment to this post.  Also send me your charity suggestions and I will add them to the voters poll.

ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE

I know that this has nothing to do with couponing...but it's fun and a great way to get people to donate to a wonderful cause!
My husband and I were nominated by my brother to participate in this challenge. And we Accepted! The water was super cold!!!

What is ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.

From what I have heard, after receiving news that you have Lou Gehrig's Disease, you have approximately 2-5years.
Currently they do not have a cure for this disease.

For more information about ALS or if you would like to donate

How to Start Couponing!

8/21/2014

Picture
A lot of friends have asked me how to coupon lately. I also came across a lot of posts on Facebook recently asking couponers how to get started because they also want to save money on groceries. So I thought I should share my strategy and steps to saving money! I think it takes about 4 weeks before you can see a huge decrease in your grocery bill! I spend about $20-$25 on groceries, personal items, and cleaning supplies each week.

The receipt I posted is my best trip. I had a lot of coupons and Homeland had tons of sales!

4 STEPS: HOW TO COUPON

  1. Buy the Sunday Newspaper: Here in Oklahoma - The Oklahoman has the most coupons. How many Newspapers to buy: 1 Newspaper for each person in your house. Purchase an even number, so you may have to buy an additional newspaper. Why even numbers - BOGO deals!
I also print coupons on coupons.com, kelloggsfamilyrewards.com, Pillsbury.com and any other product I am interested in. (Make sure you create a new email address before signing up for freebies or coupons. You don't want to get spam or clutter your personal email)

  2. Cut & Organize your coupons: I use a binder & baseball card holders. I sort them into sections like food, beauty, medicine, cleaning supplies. http://www.couponing4charity.com/blog/organizing-cutting-coupons-quickly

  3. Find the Best Deal: Try to find a store that doubles coupons. If you do not live around a store that doubles coupons than find a store that has a good sales ad. Then get the weekly sales ad and match up the items on sale with the coupons you have. Some Ads come out on Sunday (Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Dollar Stores)  & some come out on Wednesdays (Most grocery stores: Homeland, Food Pyramid, United, Aldi, etc) I only purchase items on sale and I never use all of the coupons in my binder. Just because you clipped a coupon doesn't mean you have to use it. Unless you need it try to wait for it to go on sale! My go to store is Homeland because they double coupons up to $1. Example: If you use a $1 off coupon at Homeland it will double so you get $2 off. They will only double 1 like coupon. So if you have 2 coupons and they have the same bar code they will only double one of them. It' important to know the stores coupon policy!

  4. To get additional savings: download these apps - Ibotta, checkout 51, & saving star. For More information on the apps: Click Here - http://www.couponing4charity.com/blog/get-cash-back

Please comment below and share your tips on saving money!
